Why is dating so hard in today's society?

Nearly half of Americans say that dating is more difficult than it was ten years ago. Some of the main reasons for this include increased risk, technology, and dating has become more impersonal. While dating has always presented challenges, dating, love and relationships seem even more complicated. Many people go to a date thinking or hoping that this will be their last date or that this is the person they are going to marry.

For example, if you get nervous in social situations and find it hard to meet new people, take small steps to start participating in more social interactions. Each person has a page where they write down what they did, if there was any physical contact, if the next appointment was scheduled, who started it. Taking breaks can help if you're feeling exhausted, or you might want to consider talking to a mental health professional if you can't stop thinking about it or if you feel like you're having an especially hard time going out with someone. For example, maybe you're going crazy because you haven't seen your partner for a few days, but you look at your record and see that it's actually normal for you to see her once a week.

Sure, there are some overlapping principles, but it's hard to imagine that most people tremble with anxiety every time they sit in front of the keyboard. The last step once you have learned to channel your negative emotions in a constructive way, once you have consumed your anxieties and are able to often act in spite of them, is to confess your needs to the people you hang out with and begin to assess your needs based on them.
